As a Biomedical Engineer, Ignacio Sánchez offers his expertise in medical devices and software, especially brain-machine interfaces, cardiac and neurological signal processing and human-assistive devices.
Ignacio studied Biomedical Engineering at the San Pablo CEU University in Madrid where he received the "Ángel Herrera" Award as the best student of the Polytechnic School and the "Extraordinary Award" for his degree. During his degree, he did an internship at the National Biotechnology Centre (CNB-CSIC) and at a CSIC spin-off dedicated to rehabilitation devices. Subsequently, he worked at the Carlos III University of Madrid on a cardiac signal processing project. In 2020, he obtained a MSc degree in Human and Biological Robotics at Imperial College London with distinction. During this stage, he obtained a fellowship in MedTech entrepreneurship, supporting the IP protection of the Bioengineering Department projects, and developed a research project on the study of mutual information between fNIRS and EEG through machine learning models.
Ignacio currently applies the knowledge and experience he acquired to advise clients on issues related to industrial property protection and technology transfer, including drafting and prosecution of European and Spanish patents, drafting patentability reports and freedom-to-operate reports.
In his spare time, you can find Ignacio biking, skiing, hiking or learning about new technologies such as blockchain or quantum computing.
