Julia Hindges studied chemistry, specialising in organic chemistry, in particular bioorganic chemistry. Her research focused on the design, development, optimisation and synthetic application of enzyme catalysts, combining techniques from various disciplines such as molecular biology and protein biochemistry, protein engineering, organic chemistry and process engineering. Her interdisciplinary experience enables her to understand clients' objectives in a broader context and to advise them in their entirety.
She completed her training as a patent attorney at König Szynka Tilmann von Renesse, where she gained particular experience in validity and patent infringement proceedings and the strategic development of patent portfolios, as well as at Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court under the then chairmanship of Prof Dr Thomas Kühnen. She primarily advises clients in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. She is also involved in teaching at RWTH Aachen University.
Before joining HOFFMANN EITLE in February 2025, Julia completed her doctoral studies at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf at the Jülich Research Centre. She will defend her doctoral thesis in spring 2025. She is co-author of several scientific publications, which were produced in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute IAP, among others.
In her free time, she enjoys being active, especially swimming, yoga or cycling, and spending time with family and friends.
