Julie is a trainee patent attorney in the Electrical Engineering and Digital Technologies practice group at HOFFMANN EITLE, where she focuses on patent drafting and prosecution for a wide range of inventions. A trained physicist, biomedical engineer and AI aficionada, she considers any new case with a boundless interest for the core technology to find the best possible solution in the allotted time.

Julie completed a master’s degree in Physics of Radiation, Sensors, Instruments and Imaging at the University of Strasbourg, the same year as her engineering studies at the Telecom Physique Strasbourg engineering school. Her passion for physics still very much awake, she pursued a PhD degree at the University of Lorraine with a focus on Magnetic Resonance Imaging and medical devices, before crossing the Atlantic Ocean to New York. Her two-year postdoctoral research at Columbia University, within the Biomedical Engineering department, broadened her knowledge in numerical simulation and machine learning while working with colleagues from all over the world. After this academic experience she decided to get outside her comfort zone and learn about a new field in a computational biology company.

Julie then took the opportunity to join HOFFMANN EITLE where her curiosity for technology is everyday satisfied, and where she constantly applies perseverance to find ingenuity-fueled solutions.

When away from work, as one might have inferred from the above paragraph, Julie may be found in the audience of astronomy conferences and planetaria - but also pursues down-to-earth interests such as videogaming, competing in sports events and volunteering for social causes.
