A broadly skilled mechanical engineer converting challenges into sustaining value.
Leo Nuy has a passion for developing convincing arguments in challenging situations and precisely expressing technical solutions in language. He never shies away from the technological deep dive to understand an invention in technical detail as well as on a conceptual level. Leo constantly strives not only to consider the client's needs, but to incorporate them into his work.
Leo is part of HOFFMANN EITLE's Mechanical Engineering practice group and is currently training to become a German and European patent attorney. His focus is on patent prosecution before the EPO and the GPTO, as well as the drafting of new applications. As a qualified mechanical engineer, he has extensive expertise in the fields of automotive, machine tools, production technology and production metrology. He enjoys applying this expertise in the service of companies from different regions of the world - including Europe, Japan and the US.
Leo graduated in mechanical engineering and production technology from RWTH Aachen University and gained practical experience in automotive and consumer goods production in China and the UK. Before joining HOFFMANN EITLE in 2022, he worked at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) at RWTH Aachen University as a research associate and contributed to the implementation of machine learning and digital twins in manufacturing, assembly and quality management.
In summer, Leo likes to devote his spare time to sports that involve rackets/clubs and balls. In winter, he regularly visits the Alps to carve tracks into the snow.
