Dr. Thomas Tromm has been working in the field of intellectual property since 2018. He deals with the drafting of patent applications and the granting of patents before the European Patent Office (EPO) and the German Patent Office (DPMA). He also represents his clients in opposition proceedings and infringement and nullity proceedings and advises them on the development of patent portfolios.
Thomas advises clients in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering. He specialises in a broad spectrum ranging from automation technology to battery technology and power electronics.
Before joining HOFFMANN EITLE in 2025, Thomas studied materials science at RWTH Aachen University. He then completed his doctorate in physics at the Peter Grünberg Institute of the Jülich Research Centre in the field of semiconductor nanoelectronics. He began his training as a patent attorney in 2018 at a large patent law firm in Düsseldorf.
In his free time, Thomas enjoys spending time with friends and family or playing sports.
